Batch — Node settings

This article refers to Platform v3.1.0. The current Platform version is v3.2.0.

Overview

The Node settings category of the Batch Command Manager bundles the commands that change network configuration on many nodes at once — Ethernet, WiFi, Mobile, Global config, Standalone Mode, and Proxy.

warning

The Enable Rollback parameter is available in every network-configuration command and protects the node from losing connectivity. When enabled, a node that loses communication with Barbara Panel after applying the new configuration automatically reverts to the previous one. Keep it on for any bulk network change.

Network interface commands

The three interface-update commands share the same target-selection options:

  • Apply to all interfaces of that type on every selected node.
  • Apply to all disconnected interfaces on every selected node.
  • Apply to the first disconnected interface on every selected node.
  • Apply to an interface named explicitly (eth0, wlan0, etc.).
Target interface selection

Target interface selection

1. Update Ethernet config

Update IP, netmask, gateway, DNS, MTU, and metric on the selected Ethernet interfaces.

2. Update WiFi config

Update SSID, security parameters, IP, and DNS on the selected WiFi interfaces.

3. Update Mobile config

Update APN, user, password, IP, and DNS on the selected mobile interfaces.

Node-wide commands

4. Update Global config

Apply a network-wide setting that affects every interface and service on the node — useful when you need to push a hostname, a default route, or a DNS list to many nodes at once.

5. Enable Standalone Mode

Switch every selected node into Standalone Mode so the local UI takes over network configuration. Remote configuration from Barbara Panel is disabled until Standalone Mode is turned off again.

6. Disable Standalone Mode

Turn Standalone Mode off, returning the node to managed operation under Panel.

7. Enable Proxy

Configure and enable the Proxy on every selected node. The change requires a reboot to take effect.

8. Disable Proxy

Disable the Proxy on every selected node.

Summary

The Node settings batch category lets you push network configuration to many nodes consistently. Always keep Enable Rollback on for bulk changes — losing connectivity to a fleet at once is much more painful than to a single node.
