Barbara Certification Program
This article refers to Platform v3.2.0. The current Platform version is v3.2.0.
The Barbara Certification Program is the official training and accreditation initiative for gaining expertise in the Barbara Platform. It is designed for professionals working with Edge Computing in industrial environments who want to certify their skills in managing Edge nodes, deploying applications and AI algorithms, and developing optimized applications for deployment on the platform.
The program consists of two certification levels, designed to cover both node administration and deployment (Level 1) and application development and optimization (Level 2). Each level has prerequisites, learning paths, and evaluation methods to ensure participants acquire deep and practical knowledge of the Barbara Platform.
Level 1 — Edge Administrator

Level 1 — Edge Administrator certificate badge
Level 1: Edge Administrator certifies your ability to manage and orchestrate Edge nodes, deploy applications and AI algorithms, and ensure High Availability in Edge environments. Participants learn to register nodes, manage resources, and deploy applications efficiently and securely.
Requirements
Eligibility requires completing training modules T.0 to T.3 (in case you are a customer or partner with a personalized training plan) or attending a TechDive Session within the two months prior to application.
The TechDive Sessions are monthly interactive sessions with experts exploring real use cases and addressing participant questions. You can register free for the next TechDive Session at this link.
You will also need an active account in the Barbara platform. If you don’t have one, you can get a 1-month Free trial account in here.
Evaluation Method
Evaluation is done through 3 questionnaires, requiring at least 80% correct answers to pass, and 1 practical exercise, requiring evidence of its completion to pass:
- The first questionnaire focuses on your general knowledge of the edge nodes management. You can access the questionnaire and submit your answers in here
- The second questionnaire evaluates your knowledge on applications and AI models management. You can access the questionnaire and submit your answers in here
- The third and last questionnaire evaluates your understanding of the High Availability feature and how to use it in Barbara. You can access the questionnaire and submit your answers in here
- The practical exercise consists of the implementation of a use case, by deploying and configuring several apps. You can access the description of the exercise and submit the evidence of completion in here
Successful participants receive an official certificate valid for one year, recognizing their expertise in Edge node administration.
Level 2 — Edge Apps Developer

Level 2 — Edge Apps Developer certificate badge
Level 2: Edge Apps Developer is designed for professionals aiming to develop and optimize applications for deployment through Barbara. This level tests knowledge of Docker, the container technology used by Barbara, and how to properly prepare and configure containers for optimal performance.
Requirements
Eligibility requires holding the Level 1 certification and completing the “App Development” guided tutorial in our Academy.
You will also need an active account in the Barbara platform. If you don’t have one, you can get a 1-month Free trial account in here.
Evaluation Method
The evaluation consists of two parts:
- a questionnaire, requiring at least 80% correct answers to pass. You can access the questionnaire and submit your answers in here
- a practical application development exercise based on specific instructions.
Successful participants receive an official certificate valid for one year, accrediting their skills as Barbara application developers.
Ok but… why should I get certified?
Getting certified is about proving that you can truly work with the Barbara Platform at a professional level.
Certification helps you stand out in a fast-growing area like Edge Computing and Edge AI, showing that you understand how to deploy, manage, and build applications in real industrial environments.
It also gives you confidence: you know what you’re doing, and others know it too. Whether you’re aiming to boost your career, gain credibility in front of customers, or take on more technical responsibility in Edge projects, these certifications help you move forward. And once you’re certified, you join a community of professionals who share the same standards and knowledge, with access to updated learning resources that keep you sharp as the platform evolves.
